Atlus and Frozenbyte have announced that Trine 2, the follow-up to acclaimed cooperative, fantasy action game, will be released in spring 2011 for PSN, XBLA and PC.

Trine 2 takes the first game’s powerful knight, the swift rogue, and the crafty wizard, and puts them into an all-new adventure filled with more action, more puzzles, and the introduction of online co-op support.

Trine’s PC/PSN exclusivity was something for PS3 fans to shout about – even with the hefty delay – but it would appear the lure of releasing on XBLA was too strong for Frozenbyte to ignore.

An element of exclusivity can help build hype for the title, so it will be interesting to see how the sequel does on all-formats.
