Total War: Rome 2 Patch 1.5 has gone into beta, containing just one – but important – fix.

The patch claims to “improve Campaign Map frame rate in the majority of cases for those people with high-end graphics cards combined with mid-range CPUs. Those people who have noted high frame rates in battle but single-figure frame rates during Campaign Map play should see a notable increase in performance”.

In its beta state, the patch will not be automatically applied to your game, but you can force the update by enabling beta testing:

In your steam game library, right click Total War: Rome II. Then choose Properties and select the BETAS tab. Finally select “patch1.5” from the drop down list.

Those who take part in the beta do so at their own risk.

Furthermore, Creative Assembly also announced a delay to Patch 2.

“We have taken the decision to move back Patch 2 slightly to increase the amount of fixes included in it. We will have more news on it later this week,” reads the forum post.

Creative Assembly has previously apologised for Rome 2’s launch issues, pledging to release a new patch every week until they’re fixed.
