Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 revivals are on the way, according to a couple of leaks and a confirmation from professional skateboarder Lizzie Armanto (via games radar).
Explanation of what I shared in my server:
An Activision contact told me a week or so ago about how Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 and 2 had demos/prototypes remade. They went around internally. I didn't share before as I wasnt sure if they were being remade as full games, or just a test— Sabi (@New_WabiSabi) November 24, 2019
Firstly, journalist and industry insider Sabi stated that Activision has been working on Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater remake prototypes that were playtested within the four walls of the publisher. Sabi had been correct with their E3 2019 leaks and story of Batman: Arkham Legacy, and so these new claims did seem possible. They referenced fellow journalist Liam Robertson who then jumped on the tweet thread and replied mysteriously, “Podcast with us some time.”
Robertson appeared to be throwing his lot in with the rumour. Following this, a The Nine Club interview with professional skateboarder Lizzie Armanto was dredged up from October. She was asked about her appearance in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5, and mentioned that “he’s coming out with another one, and I’ll be in that too.” However, the podcast interview has now been edited so that there’s no comment on the possibility of a new Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater game.
Strange. It’s almost like there will be a Tony Hawk's Pro Skater remake and Armanto accidentally gave the game away, so to speak. We won’t know for sure until Activision officially acknowledges the story. Tony Hawk split up from Activision once Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 was released. Whether he’d return for a remake remains to be seen, but it seems likely. You know, because the game’s got his name on it.
Activision is also said to be working on a new Crash Bandicoot game, called “Crash Bandicoot Worlds”, that would feature three new masks dotted around on a semi-open world.
