The Titanfall franchise is here for the “long-term”, EA CEO Andrew Wilson stated during the publisher’s Q3 earnings call, despite sales of Titanfall 2 failing to meet the publisher’s expectations.

“Titanfall 2 will be played for a long time to come, with new maps, modes and content updates continuing to expand the experience and engage our players. We’re excited about our long-term plans for the Titanfall franchise,” said Wilson.

Responding during an investor Q&A during the earnings call, Wilson added: “It sold less than we expected in the timeframe. We’re not seeing it as under performance at this juncture. What we have demonstrated as an organization is that with great games, we can sell them for many months and often many years.”

He added: “So, the way we think about Titanfall is that we have what is one of the best games of this year, and certainly one of the best games in this generation of consoles, in what is this year’s largest category. And we’ve got a development team who have unbelievable pedigree and a commitment to continue to support the community, and we expect to continue to grow that community through the coming fiscal year.”
