All maps and modes released for Titanfall 2 following its launch this October will be made available for free, Respawn has confirmed.

“We’ll definitely be supporting Titanfall 2 post-launch, and I can confirm all maps and modes we deliver post-launch will be free,” head of development David Wightman told GamesRadar last night. “We’ll be talking more about post-launch plans closer to release so stay tuned for more info.”

There won’t be any “pay-to-win stuff” either, Wightman says, although there’s currently no info on whether the developer plans to sell premium cosmetic items.

The approach is different to that of the original game, where maps were initially released at a premium before being made free. The game’s Season Pass was originally sold for £19.99, before being discounted to nothing on the game’s first anniversary.

Titanfall 2 releases on PS4, Xbox One and PC on October 28.
