The exact details of how Vivendi has ended up with the game haven’t been disclosed and neither Atari nor VU Games have offered any answers. Atari first announced the Saber Interactive FPS in January 05, and back then the game was scheduled for release on PC and Xbox. The PC was later delayed until May 06 with an Xbox 360 version scheduled to join it. The Xbox version was handed a heftier delay, being pushed back until June.

With the game now having changed hands, its release date is now up in the air. A VU Games rep told GameSpot that the publisher will “release the product when it’s ready.” The transition looks to have been even worse news for the Xbox version, with its absence from VU Games’ announcement suggesting the game may well have been cancelled.
