Doublefine, the developer headed by industry legend Tim Schafer, has reclaimed the publishing rights for its 3D platformer Psychonauts.

This news comes courtesy of a recent tweet from Double fine programmer Anna Kipnis.

While no official announcement has been made, it is expected that all proceeds for purchases on the game through Steam, Good Old Games, and Xbox LIVE, will go directly to the studio.

In the past, the game’s publisher Majesco has been awarded with profits from the game.

Schafer has hinted a number of times at tentative plans to get a sequel off the ground. In an interview with Videogamer.com he stated “We would love to do it, we would love to do it.”
