Following claims that Infinity Ward president Jason West and studio head Vince Zampella have been sacked by the studio’s owner Activision, Tim Schafer, who’s had difficulties with the publisher in the past, has had his say.

“Getting mad at Activision for this kind of thing is like getting mad at an ape for throwing feces. It’s just how the beast communicates,” he wrote on Twitter.

Schafer created Double Fine Productions, the studio behind cult hit Psychonauts and recent heavy metal actioner, Brutal Legend. The latter was originally to be published by Activision, but was later dropped after the merger between Activision and Vivendi.
