THQ is one of the most prolific publishers of games for children, and this policy looks set to continue with its line-up of titles for the Wii. On December 8 when the Wii finally becomes available in Europe, THQ will have a clutch of child-friendly titles just waiting to be snapped up by the kiddies.

Most prominent amongst its four release titles is Disney Pixar’s Cars. The movie tie-in has already done massive business on current platforms and is likely to be the best seller of THQ’s Wii launch games. Also coming on day one for the Wii is the movie licensed Barnyard, and the children’s TV licensed Avatar: The Last Airbender and SpongeBob SquarePants: Creature from the Krusty Krab.

THQ joins Ubisoft, EA, SEGA and Activision, as a third-party publisher supporting the Wii at launch.
