THQ has today announced the acquisition of the publishing rights for 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

In 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand players will take control of the world famous hip hop artist 50 Cent as he and members of G-Unit battles across two war-torn countries on a mission to collect payment from a crime cartel boss.

“50 Cent is a cultural icon and one of the biggest names in hip hop. THQ is thrilled to be working with him on this exciting new title,” said Brad Carraway, vice president, global brand management, THQ. “Combining intense single player combat, drop-in and drop-out online co-op and never-before-released music tracks makes this the ultimate package for gamers and hip hop fans alike.”

Developed by Swordfish Studios using Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 3, 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand promises to feature intense 3rd person action shooter gameplay, online drop-in and drop-out cooperative play and vehicle combat.

The game will also include eighteen exclusive new 50 Cent tracks, as well as previously released songs and music videos.
