11 bit studios has announced that This War of Mine has notched up 4.5 million sales since its launch back in 2014.
Initially released on PC and Mac, This War of Mine was later ported to PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, iOS, and Android. 11 bit has also been able to donate over $500,000 to the War Child charity as a result of the game's success, an organisation that seeks to help children growing up in conflict zones across the globe.
This War of Mine is a survival game inspired by the Siege of Sarajevo from 1992-1996, during the Bosnian War. You're responsible for guiding a band of civilians holding up in the war-torn city of Pogoren, which involves you scavenging for supplies and making difficult choices in order to ensure the survival of each character.
The game was supported with a bunch of post-launch content, including The Little Ones DLC, which gives players the chance of adding a child survivor into the mix.
