While Stardew Valley creator Eric ‘ConcernedApe’ Barone doesn’t vibe with mods himself, the adorable pixel-art farming game is a haven for mods. Lilybrook, a brand-new Stardew mod, aims to expand Barone’s ever-popular indie game with new areas, NPCs and more to experience.
Over the past year, there’s been a tonne of amazing Stardew Valley mods, including the Baldur’s Gate 3 themed expansion Baldur’s Village and a fan-expansion made by a homesick fan.
Stardew Valley Lilybrook is an awesome expansion
Created by talented modder 8BitAlien, Lilybrook – A Stardew Valley expansion brings players to a new village tucked away in the forest just a “short bus ride” away from Pelican Town.
After taking a the bus, players will arrive in the new fan-made town to experience a brand-new adventure, with even more to come. Modder 8BitAlien explains that the fan expansion has been created to “stay true to the base game’s style while adding fresh new content” with characters, dialogue and art all designed in line with the original.
Available to download right here, the mod has new fish to fish, new recipes to cook, new crops to plant, new special orders, forageables, minerals, artifacts and much more. There’s even new furniture to decorate your houses with!
However, the most exciting part of the mod is the addition of new NPCs. The hidden village of Lilybrook has 17 new NPCs to interact with, but four of them are actually romanceable. “Maybe you can find your soul mate?” the mod description asks players.
The 10 megabyte fan-expansion also holds a number of hidden locations that players can discover with some only possible to enter after progression through the expansion’s story. And that’s not even the end of it!
While the mod already has a tonne of content to play through, modder 8BitAlien has confirmed that more content is coming to the expansion in the future. “I plan to add updates to Lilybrook in the future adding even more new content,” the modder said. “I already have lots of ideas!”
