An 18 month search for the existence of aliens in Elite: Dangerous has culminated in a moment of true brilliance.
Developer Frontier had given players breadcrumbs to follow, which many players believed would lead them to discovery of the Thargoids – a race known to earlier Elite players. Now, an Xbox One player named DP Sayre has posted video evidence of an encounter with what is thought to be a Thargoid ship.

Frontier posted the video on Twitter, and others have now managed to trigger the same encounter, which you can see in the suspense filled video below. Those who don’t play Elite can probably pick up the action from around the 7.30 mark.
It’s not yet clear what role the Thargoid’s have in the game.
