Eidos Montreal has switched from being predominantly focussed on creating Deus Ex: Human Revolution to working full blast on Thief 4, Deus Ex: Human Revolution art director Jonathan Jacques-Belletete has told Eurogamer.

“It’s their turn now,” he said. “We’ve ramped down, they’ve ramped up. The main production floor is occupied by them now. We’re occupying a lesser space.

“For the past four years all the directors on Deus Ex were sitting in the same area, with tons of concept art and design papers all pinned up on the walls… the day we went to take them down all the directors of Thief were sitting in our places. It was a weird day.”

Despite working in the same office space, Jacques-Belletete said the Thief 4 and Deus Ex teams are “entirely separate,” confirming he’ll have “no role at all” on the in-development stealth sequel.

With production now entering its main phase we should begin to hear more on Thief 4 – is E3 too early?
