Cayde-6 is dead. Or rather, he will be when Destiny 2: Forsaken drops this September. The popular and irreverent Hunter Vanguard bites the bullet in the latest trailer for the expansion, which is what sets you off on your revenge mission.
Apparently, this hit Destiny fans hard enough for them to build a shrine to Cayde-6, voiced brilliantly by Nathan Fillion, outside the E3 exhibition hall in Los Angeles earlier this week.
It features flowers, pictures, messages, and even a packet of ramen. Cayde-6 loved spicy ramen, didn't you know?
Quite why Bungie would want to kill off who is easily their best Destiny character is anyone's guess, but apparently they want us to hate the bad guys in Forsaken. Fair enough, but I'm sure Ikora or Zavala could snuff it and we'd feel just as compelled to seek justice…well, maybe.
Destiny 2: Forsaken is due out on September 4 for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. Make the most of Cayde-6 by visiting him in the tower at every possible opportunity until then, eh?
