Mega Cat Studios is aiming to raise awareness of development crunch in a new SNES title called Fork Parker's Crunch Out. Yep, it's an actual new game for the SNES, which you can insert into the machine like you would any other cartridge for the system.

The game features Parker, who is the CFO of publisher Devolver Digital, as he attempts to crack the whip and ensure his team of developers pump out their next big title out on time and secure their bonuses, which are naturally tied directly to how well the title performs critically.

Fork Parker's Crunch Out will retail for $49.99 and is fully compatible with NTSC SNES consoles, so that sadly means it won't work on PAL machines. It will, however, come packaged with a retro-tastic instruction manual and authentic old-school packaging. Crunch Out is limited to just 1000 copies and is available exclusively at Mega Cat Studios' website and select independent retailers in the US.

All profits from Crunch Out will be directed to Take This, a nonprofit organisation that focuses on raising awareness within the gaming community about mental health issues and offering education and services within the industry.

'As demonstrated in our 2016 white paper 'Crunch Hurts', crunch is an unsustainable practice that exploits game creators' passion at the expense of their physical and mental wellness,' commented Take This board member, Kate Edwards.
