CD Projekt Red and tabletop game publisher Cmon have announced plans to launch a Cyberpunk 2077 card game, in 2020.

Cyberpunk 2077: Afterlife will apparently place players in 'the dark alleyways of Night City, where ruthless gangs clash with corporations in an endless war for money, power, and control.' Isn't that lovely?

In the game, you'll take on the role of a Fixer. 'Fixers are the databrokers and masterminds in Night City who recruit cyberpunks, equip them with gear, and send them out on missions. But nothing’s free in Night City. Players need to balance between what they want and what they can actually afford. Using an innovative drafting mechanic and special dashboard, players must decide which cards they want to buy, and which to sacrifice for funds in order to purchase new ones.'

If a mission is success, you'll then raise your Street Cred, which is supposedly 'the only currency that truly matters.' True in the Cyberpunk world, and ours, I suppose.

Cmon's director of game design, Eric M. Lang, said, 'I'm a huge fan of Cyberpunk and have played it since the first edition. I grew up playing the RPG and have kept up with the franchise through the years. Andrea Chiarvesio and I were beyond thrilled to work on it.'

This is the two companies' first collaboration, but the press release states that there are 'plans for more to follow.' That could mean more Cyberpunk games, but it could also mean a Witcher collab, too. I'm sure we'll hear more in the coming months.

I can only imagine this is one of the other Cyberpunk projects that CD Projekt Red previously said it was working on; I'm hoping a PSOne port is another.
