An Amazon listing for an official Overwatch themed Nintendo Switch case appeared and disappeared yesterday, fuelling rumours that the cartoony shooter could be coming to the handheld platform.
As spotted by Wario64 on Twitter, the listing for the stylish black and orange case was posted by accessory manufacturer PowerA. PowerA has previously produced officially licensed Switch cases for The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Odyssey, and Spyro the Dragon. Overwatch is not released on Switch, and it’s possible that the manufacturer was showing some love to fans of the multiplayer shooter. But given how quickly the listing was removed, there could be some merit in the speculations of a Switch port.

In addition, Blizzard Entertainment senior producer Matthew Hawley didn’t rule out an Overwatch Switch release, and said, ‘we’ll see where things go.’ Diablo 3 was released onto Switch last year, and with technical behemoths like The Witcher 3 running smoothly on the platform, it’s not totally outlandish to think Overwatch might join them. The only concern is that Overwatch needs a stable internet connection to play, and the upcoming Nintendo Switch Lite is very focused on its portable features. For now though, we will have to wait and see.
