The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, published by Spike Chunsoft, has made it to No.1 in Japan according to figures released by Media Create.

For the week ended May 24, The Witcher 3 sold 67,385 copies on PS4, more than enough to see off No.2 game Minecraft: PS Vita Edition with 11,898 units sold.

The Witcher’s release didn’t have a great impact of hardware sales, however, with PS4 units up marginally from 11,489 to 12,096 week-on-week.

Elsewhere Wii U sold 7,611 units and Xbox One sales were up by over 100 per cent from 148 units to 308 units – yes, the console is doing that badly in Japan.
