Nintendo has confirmed a slew of new details on the upcoming Switch version of Bayonetta 2, revealing the sultry action-adventure game will feature Amiibo support to unlock extra content.

Players who snap up a copy of the former Wii U-exclusive outing will be able to use the figures to get their paws on Nintendo-themed costumes and weapons for the game’s eponymous demon-slaying heroine.

While you can unlock the extra costumes the old fashioned way like in the Wii U edition, by utilising compatible Amiibos you can grab them instantaneously. As you may recall, the original release included costumes based on popular Ninty franchises such as Metroid and Star Fox among others.

Elsewhere, Bayonetta 2 on Switch will feature multiplayer support, though unlike the Wii U version it won’t be limited to online play. Instead, gamers can take now take advantage of local multiplayer, although you’ll each need to own a Switch and a copy of Bayonetta 2 to team up.

Bayonetta 2 slices and dices its way onto Switch alongside the 2010 original on February 16. Read our review of the Wii U version of the sequel to see if it’s worth putting on your Switch radar.
