Variety has confirmed that MTV Films has acquired the rights to The Suffering. Working with MTV Films on the project are Brian Gilbert from Stan Winston Prods. and Jason Lust and Rick Jacobs from Circle of Confusion.
The Suffering videogame is set to receive a sequel later this year after the original game’s blend of action and horror earned it critical and commercial success. Details about the feature film are vague, with a director, cast and release date all to be announced.
