A new endless runner based on children’s animation The Snowman and The Snowdog is available to download now on iOS and Android, Channel 4 has announced.
The free game features visuals based on the film’s unique hand-drawn environments and music from composer Ilan Eshkeri, and sees players attempting to fly The Snowman and The Snowdog to the North Pole, soaring past various UK landmarks including Stonehenge, the Angel of the North and Edinburgh Castle.
Players can also customise their character with new hats and outfits by collecting snowflakes.
However, parents should be aware of in-app purchases, which allow players to buy additional snowflakes and “shortcuts”. To reduce the risk of over-spending, each player is only able to purchase a maximum of £20 worth of content.
“We’re really proud of this new worldwide version of The Snowman and The Snowdog game which builds upon Channel 4 Online’s previous successes in innovative and interactive multi-platform viewer experiences,” said Channel 4 games commissioner Colin Macdonald.
“I was stunned to see last year’s version of the game saw some players play for over 80 hours in total – we hope this exciting new game will bring more The Snowman and The Snowdog magic to this Christmas and have players hooked once again.”
