EA has released The Sims 2 Pets across numerous platforms already, and this summer will add Wii to the list. The game will be much the same as the current home console versions only with the addition of Wii Remote control support.

The game sees players going about their normal Sim life only now with a furry friend to accompany them. Choose from popular dog and cat breeds or customize your own unique pet which you can then raise as one of the family.

You’ll have to take your pet down to the park and even go out shopping for the purrfect accessory, and you’ll be doing all this with the addition of Wii Remote control. Use the Nunchuck and Wii Remote to point at the screen and direct your Sims. Designing is also made really simple; just grab walls, furnishings and décor and place them where you want.

The Sims 2 Pets is scheduled for release on Wii across Europe on June 22.
