Devolver Digital and Flying Wild Hog have announced that Shadow Warrior is free on Steam until 6pm, Wednesday August 23. That’s tonight, folks. The game came out back in 2013 on PC (followed by a PS4 and Xbox One release in 2014) and is a remake of the classic 3D Realms shooter that came out 20 years ago. As long as you add it to your library before 6pm today, the game will be yours, permanently.Â
The free-for-all promotion for Shadow Warrior is linked to the release of some new DLC for Shadow Warrior 2, called Bounty Hunt Part 2. This DLC is also free, and Shadow Warrior 2 is discounted by 50%, just in case that tickles your fancy.
In Shadow Warrior, you’ll play as the hero, Lo Wang, who’s been given the task of slashing his way through loads of demons as he tries to stop the nefarious Master Zilla from taking over Japan and then the world. It’s a solid 7/10 in our eyes.
