Originally intended for release back in 2004 by publisher Acclaim, The Red Star is now in the hands of XS Games and will finally make it to Europe through a publishing deal with Take-Two.
Set in a world of chaotic warfare, industrial technology and arcane magic, The Red Star sees soldiers of a Russian-inspired superpower fighting for their lives against the powerful forces of an evil Dark Lord and his ruthless assassin.
Based on the Eisner Award nominated Archangel Studios comic, the game is described as a blend of brutal melee action and old skool shooter gameplay. Play as three legendary warriors, each with unique fighting skills, weapons and fighting styles, either on your own or with a friend in co-op mode.

The Red Star will be released on April 6 for PlayStation 2 and will retail for £19.99.
