The Quiet Man is going to add a post-launch patch that doesn't make it quiet. How outstanding is that? That's rhetorical. It's very outstanding.

The game's lead character is deaf and silent, so an awful lot of the game lacks any sound, as the name of Human Head's upcoming game suggests. There are apparently some sound effects during battles, but apart from that, it's pretty hushed.

During a livestream (via Gematsu), however, publisher Square Enix announced that a free update, scheduled for a week after release, will add sound to the game for your second playthrough.

The game's hook is that it's mostly inaudible, so this seems strange. Also, it's pretty peculiar to announce this now, and patch it in a week after launch. Either way, I'm intrigued by The Quiet Man; the campy E3 trailer was enough to pique my interest some what.

The Quiet Man is set to launch on November 1 on PC and PlayStation 4.
