The NPD Group has revealed that PlayStation 4 came out on top in May's console punch-up, fending off competition from Microsoft and Nintendo.
Not only that, but Sony's current-generation telly box is also the best-selling console of 2018 so far, so it's been a pretty solid month overall for the hardware giant.
Despite this, all consoles — that is, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch — enjoyed a great month, notching up 'all-time unit sales highs for a May month.' As such, last month had the best hardware sales for May overall since 2011.
On the software front, State of Decay 2 took the crown as the best-selling game for last month, toppling PS4 juggernauts God of War and Detroit: Become Human in the process.
