White Paper Games has announced that it has pushed back the release of The Occupation to February 5, 2019.

The upcoming thriller was originally scheduled to arrive on October 9, so it would have been with us next week. However, writing in a statement on its blog today, the developer confirmed that The Occupation needs a little more time in the oven before it's ready to ship.

'We know that right now the game is so close to being complete and ready to play, but we also know that there are some tweaks and improvements that we need to make in order for it to be something that we’re proud to release and an experience that we’re happy to hand over to you all,' reads the statement.

The Occupation is due out on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One as a digital download and at retail.

Set in October 1987, the game takes place in wake of a terrorist attack that kills 23 people, leading to the creation of the controversial Union Act by the British Government. You control a journalist who must explore a single building while attempting to research the act, which threatens the civil liberties of the British public.

Interestingly, the game takes place across four real-time hours, and your choices throughout will affect the story as you progress.

The Occupation has been a long time coming, as it's been in the works for around four years. Still, after all that time, a few extra months of waiting won't hurt, right?
