The next Total War game might be set in Ancient Greece, according to a photo snapped of PC Gamer magazine (via VG 247).
Reddit user Mavus uploaded a photo they took of PC Gamer magazine stocked in a shop. The cover shows a ‘world exclusive’ report that the next Total War game is titled ‘Troy: A Total War Saga’. Two golden warriors are engaged in battle, and the caption below reads ‘Epic battle in a world of gods and monsters.’

Saga is a spinoff of the core Total War games, and it offers a more compact strategy experience by focusing on just one time period rather than spanning dynasties or eras of history. Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia was the first in the series and released last year. Thrones of Britannia was set during the historic Viking invasion of the British Isles, but Troy: A Total War Saga appears to include mythological content too.
At the time of writing, Troy: A Total War Saga is unconfirmed by Sega. But, the company filed a trademark for that very same name back in July, which is kind of like peeking at the cheat sheet of an exam ahead of time. It’s likely that we’ll receive news of the next Total War game very soon, so watch this space for an update.
