Karima, who was cast from over a thousand hopefuls, is a self-confessed tomboy who worked in Top Shop as a sales assistant. Her life will now be transformed as she is catapulted into stardom as one of the most famous faces in gaming. Starting immediately she will be sent on a gruelling training programme which will include SAS survival, combat and semi automatic weapon firing, a crash course in archaeology, and elocution and etiquette lessons.

Once the training is complete Karima will take part in a host of international modelling assignments, staring in TV commercials, and appearing on chat shows as she travels around the world for the next two years.

This is an incredible opportunity for me and one which I plan to grasp with both hands” said Karima. “It’s a huge challenge to follow in the footsteps of people like Nell McAndrew and Angelina Jolie, but life is all about challenges and this is perhaps the biggest one for a model and actress.

Karima is the latest is a series of Lara Croft models which have included Rhona Mitra and Nell McAndrew. Angelina Jolie plays Lara in the Tomb Raider movies. Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Legend hits Xbox, PlayStation 2 and PC on April 7 in Europe and April 11 in North America. Xbox 360 and PSP versions will follow shortly after.
