Nintendo has announced that combined sales of the NES and SNES Classic Edition have surpassed 10 million worldwide.

The company announced the figure during its financial report for Q2 2019, where it also revealed that Switch has sold over 22 million units to date. The 10 million figure is certainly impressive, and definitely proves that nostalgia for classic consoles is still alive and well.

Sony obviously agrees too, as it's releasing the PlayStation Classic this winter complete with 20 built-in games.

The NES Classic Edition first arrived on the scene in November 2016 and promptly sold out, although Ninty produced another batch and re-launched the system earlier this summer. The SNES Classic Edition meanwhile launched in September 2017, and features the first official release of Star Fox 2.

There's rumours that the Big N will launch a N64 Classic Edition at some point, although nothing official has been confirmed.
