The Longest Journey, Funcom’s point-and-click adventure first released over a decade ago, is coming to the iPhone.

Speaking to VideoGamer.com, the studio’s creative director Ragnar Tornquist confirmed the game is currently being developed for the iPhone platform.

The Longest Journey was launched to critical acclaim in 1999 and spawned a cross-platform sequel, Dreamfall. There are currently plans to continue the series through episodic content, in addition to the iPhone port.

In the meantime Funcom is developing The Secret World, a narrative-based MMO in which mythology and conspiracy theories converge with reality. The Secret World is planned for release in April 2012, however no release date has been announced for The Longest Journey’s next appearance.
