The Long Reach, the pixellated horror romp from Painted Black Games, will finally be hitting Switch on March 14, Merge Games has announced. The title was originally due to release for Nintendo’s hybrid platform late last year before being delayed.

Set in the fictional New Hampshire town of Baerox, The Long Reach takes place in present day but plucks much of its influence from classic adventurers such as The Cave and Lone Survivor. Playing as a chap named Clive, the game has a knack for seriously ‘screwing with your perception of things’ and utilises vibrant pixel art to cultivate a gruesome and unsettling experience.

The Long Reach packs in many staples of the horror/adventure genre, so expect to solve a variety of puzzles by ‘thinking outside of the box,’ converse with other characters, and fill your inventory with the usual assortment of bits and bobs such as keys and ‘other weird stuff.’  Finally, we’re also promised an appropriately haunting soundtrack to top it all off.

The Long Reach will be available to download from the Nintendo eShop for £12.99.Â
