Japanese developer Nippon Ichi has announced that it’s beavering away on a quirky platformer known as The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince for PS4, PS Vita, and Switch.

The game is something of a bitter love story, and centres on a creature that disguises itself as a Princess in order to guide a blind Prince safely through a series of fairy tale-inspired locations.

Its concept came about during an in-house brainstorming session at Nippon Ichi, in which employees all throw around ideas for a new game, with one guaranteed to get the green light. The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince is the latest project to materialise from these sessions, joining the likes of Yomawari: Night Alone and The Firefly Diary.

The game’s idea was pitched by a female web designer at the company, and is noteworthy for its striking drawing book-style aesthetic. Not much else is known about the project right now, although you can watch some gameplay footage below.
