The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will not launch in March alongside the Nintendo Switch, sources have revealed to Nintendo insider Emily Rogers. The info has also been independently confirmed by Eurogamer sources close to Nintendo.

Rogers says that localisation for the game will continue until the end of the year, which will be followed by a four to six month period of testing. Only then will the game be ready for launch, indicating we won’t see it until some point in the latter half of 2017.

Nintendo has never actually said Breath of the Wild would be a Switch launch game, only stating it plans to launch it in 2017 for both Wii U and the Switch.

Eurogamer has heard that the new 3D Super Mario game could headline the Switch launch line-up.

We should hear much more about Nintendo Switch on January 13. Recent rumours point to a £199.99 launch price for the Switch.
