White Owls, the newly-formed studio from Deadly Premonition and D4: Dark Dreams Don’t Die director SWERY, has launched its crowdfunding campaign for new title The Good Life.

Described as a ‘debt repayment life simulation RPG,’ The Good Life sees players take on the role of Naomi, a photographer from New York that’s ended up in a rural English town called Rainy Woods. There’s cats involved, too.

At time of writing The Good Life has over one thousand backers on Fig, and has raised over $150k. With 38 days left for people to give money to the project, The Good Life appears to be on track to raise the $1.5 million the studio is looking for.

If you’re eager to get in on the ground floor, you can throw $29 Hidetaka Suehiro’s way, knowing you’ll get a digital copy of the game once it’s available. If you’re really flash you can put $34,999 in and have dinner with SWERY as a reward. If you do, ask him when episode two of D4 is out for me, would ya? Cheers.
