Geoff Keighley confirmed that there will be approximately ten new games and projects to be exhibited during The Game Awards on December 12 (via Reddit).

The Game Awards is primarily for the purpose of celebrating good games that were released and good people who have done good stuff that year. But, it’s also an opportunity to show off new or never-before-seen games in anticipation of the year ahead. In 2018, we got news of an untitled Dragon Age game, Far Cry New Dawn, and The Outer Worlds.

A few titles have been speculated to be revealed at The Game Awards 2019, such as a new Crash Bandicoot game and a Resident Evil 3 remake. In a Reddit AMA, The Games Awards producer Geoff Keighley said that there would be ten new games and projects appearing at the event. However, none of the leaks about The Game Awards are true. Dash it all.

“We have a bunch of brand new games being announced at the show—I think there are around 10 new games/projects being revealed if you want to count the things that no one has heard about yet,” answered Keighley. “As always the Internet has a lot of really bad information out there about what you think is at the show… but it sure is fun to read :)”

There were sixteen reveals in 2018, and even though this is a little lower than that number, I’m certain it will be equally exciting. Keighley also said that he will announce, “a big new concept that is the future of where I want to take not only The Game Awards but events like E3 too.” This undertaking would take several years to finalise and would, “involve all of you around the world”, in some fashion. The Game Awards will be held on December 12 at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles.
