Blizzard Entertainment has announced that the original Diablo is now available to download on GOG.com, marking the first time the classic action-RPG has been sold digitally.

The Windows PC version can be purchased now for $19.99. The Hellfire expansion is not part of the package, though you do get support for Windows 10, various bug fixes, and even old-school shenanigans with 20fps and Battle.net matchmaking.

Diablo isn't the only classic game coming to GOG.com, either. Warcraft: Orcs and Humans and Warcraft 2 are also in the pipeline, although a release date has yet to be confirmed.

The first Diablo came out way back in 1996, and remains one of the all-time classic dungeon crawlers. The fantasy-flavoured title takes place in the Kingdom of Khanduras, and sees the hero character battling to rid the world of the game's titular Big Bad, aka the Lord of Terror.

Diablo was originally released on the PC, but developer Climax Studios ported the game to the PlayStation in 1998 with full controller support. The title was even considered for the Sega Saturn, but it never saw the light of day.

Diablo has sold over 2.5 million copies worldwide.
