Zombie/prison break mash-up The Escapists The Walking Dead will release on Xbox One and PC next Wednesday, September 30, Team 17 has announced.
The game will be available digitally on PC for £12.99 and on Xbox One for £14.99. A release on other platforms has yet to be announced.
The standalone spin-off sees players step into the shoes of The Walking Dead protagonist Rick Grimes who, along with other survivors from the original comic books, must survive and escape a number of zombie-infested environments, including Harrison Memorial Hospital and the Greene Family Farm.
The game does not require the original The Escapists to play.
“The Escapists The Walking Dead is a creative monsterpiece,” said Daniel Murray, president of the comic book’s publisher Skybound Interactive. “We believe fans of great games in general will be delighted to play this unique interpretation of Robert’s graphic novel. Team17 shares our belief in empowering independent creators. This game embodies that spirit to a tee.”
