The Elder Scrolls: Blades will be coming to Switch in 2020 instead of the end of 2019, as announced by Bethesda (via Eurogamer).

“We know how eager our players are to dive into Blades on the Nintendo Switch and we’ve been hard at work to make it happen,” the blog post published by Bethesda said. “Unfortunately, amidst all the other changes we’re making to Blades, we’ve had to delay our Switch release until early 2020. We can’t wait until you can begin your quest in Blades on the Switch, and we’re confident this additional time will let us deliver the polished gameplay our fans deserve.”

These “other changes” will be included in patch 1.5 for the mobile version of The Elder Scrolls: Blades. This will roll out in a few weeks time, and will give enthusiastic Switch players a sneak peek. So, patch 1.5 will cut out chest timers so that players can access its contents immediately. Also, PvP battles will unlock for all players at level five or above and will use in-game global leaderboards to decide who is top dog.

It’s not all about the competition, though. Patch 1.5 will add guilds that will let players trade materials with each other and visit their towns. In the Blades adventures, slain enemies will hold more loot and the bosses will have even greater rewards than before. “Our goal is to make Blades as rewarding to play through as it is fun, and we think these changes will help us do just that,” Bethesda explained.

The Elder Scrolls: Blades will touch down on Switch in 2020.
