A mysterious Day One add-on for LA Noire has been revealed in a US press release from Microsoft, but it’s not yet clear what it actually is.
As spotted by Joystiq, the “LA Noire Rockstar Pass” pops up on a list of LIVE content scheduled for release between May 10 and May 23, with an 800 MS Points price tag. The description reads:
“In celebration of launch on May 17, take your L.A. Noire experience to the next level and download the ‘LA Noire Rockstar Pass’ add-on.”
That’s all the information we have to go on at present. Joystiq suggests that the pack could be a collection of all the pre-order DLC bonuses that have been doing the rounds, or else an equivalent to Mass Effect 2’s Cerberus Network – perhaps providing new cases in the weeks following the games’ release.
The use of the word “Pass” could imply access to some form of ongoing content; since we already have the Rockstar Social Club to handle online community stuff, this has to be offering something else. It has already been confirmed that the pre-order bonuses will be made available to non-pre-orderers at some point, but I’m not sure that matches up with an 800-point price.
