Focus Home Interactive has announced that The Council Episode 5 – Checkmate will launch on December 4.
In addition to the final chapter in the narrative-driven thriller, players will be able to grab the Complete Season of The Council for all platforms on the same day at brick-and-mortar retailers. A US release follow in early 2019.
Checkmate will be available to anyone who has already purchased The Council's Season Pass, and can also be bought separately for £5.79.
Developed by the brilliantly-named Big Bad Wolf, The Council launched back in March on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. Despite placing a strong emphasis on player choice as an interactive mystery romp, the game adds a surprising amount of RPG wrinkles, including three unique classes, plus a skill and levelling system.
The fifth and final episode is promised to bring about a 'climactic' conclusion to The Council, which sees all your decision-making and progress come to a head as the survival of the De Richets family hangs in the balance.
