Edmund McMillen of Super Meat Boy and The Binding of Isaac fame has confirmed that Mewgenics is still alive.

Mewgenics was announced back in 2012, as the next game from Team Meat. In 2016, after McMillen and his Team Meat teammate Tommy Refenes parted ways, the game was cancelled. In January of this year, McMillen said that Mewgenics was being rebooted, but he added that it was in the very early stages. Cat lovers rejoiced.

Now, as reported by PC Gamer, they can can rejoice even more as McMillen took to Twitter to announce that 'Mewgenics is now officially back in development!'

McMillen will be working alongside three others he has before: coder Tyler Glaiel (The Basement Collection, The End is Nigh), background artist Krystal Fleming (The Binding of Isaac), and composer Ridiculon (The Binding of Isaac, The End is Nigh).

Information on how the new Mewgenics will play is obviously scarce, but you can try and piece together something from the gifs that Glaiel has been posting on Twitter.
