Not only will Test Drive Unlimited go on sale at the lower than usual price for an Xbox 360 title, but Atari will also be offering car packs, featuring six or more cars, to be made available monthly. These downloads will begin six weeks after the launch of the game, and will also include new genre specific radio stations.

Innovation should be available to everyone, not a privilege for those can afford high price tags,” said Bruno Bonnell, Chairman, CEO and Chief Creative Officer of Atari. “Our GamersFirst program demonstrated the positive impact of flexibility in pricing. We believe it is our mission to deliver triple-A games that are accessible to the masses. As such, we are offering Test Drive Unlimited – a game that is being positively touted and recognized by the media – for $39.95, and furthermore, will continue users’ experiences past launch by featuring new cars and free music for download.

Each of the download packs will feature a mix of manufacturers and models, and whilst the packs will come with a free radio station featuring 10-20 songs, the price of the monthly car packs has not been revealed.

Test Drive Unlimited for the Xbox 360 is scheduled for release in September. PS2, PC and PSP versions will follow at a later date.
