As well as local wireless play via ad-hoc, Tekken Dark Resurrection on the PSP will feature something which vaguely resembles online play. Rather than fight in real-time with an opponent from anywhere in the world, you will instead be able to download ghost character data from the best fighters the world over. This can be done either directly onto your PSP or via a PC, and then transferred to a Memory Stick. This ghost will then become an opponent for you to fight against.

This isn’t something new to the series, with the ghost character system featuring in the Arcade version of Tekken Dark Resurrection. The ghost character is created based on the player’s fighting style and customization options.

Tekken Dark Resurrection is scheduled for release on the PSP on July 6 in Japan, with a North American release actually expected a few weeks earlier on June 26. Expect to see a lot more of the game at E3.
