The Tekken World Tour 2018 wrapped up in Amsterdam over the weekend, and the day was won by an unlikely character – Panda.

Yep, arguably one of the worsts characters in the game on paper, this didn't stop South Korea's Rangchu from beating last year's winner Qudans 3-1. Not only is the fact he won as Panda a massive achievement, but his opponent used Devil Jin, one of the best characters in Tekken 7's diverse roster.

Rangchu also had a lot of competition before even getting to the final match. He had to face down a number of legendary Tekken players, including Knee, JDCR, and Saint. If those names don't mean much to you, then punch them into YouTube and watch a couple of matches.

In terms of characters, most Tekken tournaments only see a handful of fighters make the cut by the time of the finals, such as Devil Jin, Dragunov, and Jack. This is for a good reason though, as they excel at the necessary poking and whiff punishing that the best players need to succeed at high level play.

Massive congrats to Rangchu, though. I still long for the day when a Kazuya player will take the crown…

Bamco confirmed at the event that Armor King and Marduk are now available to grab as part of Tekken 7's Season Two DLC lineup.
