Techland has announced a new promotion offering free DLC to all Dying Light players following the “overwhelmingly positive” response to yesterday’s #DrinkForDLC campaign.

The campaign initially started off as a joke mocking Destiny’s Red Bull promotion. But thanks to the community’s response, the developer has decided to create a number of free DLC packs to be released throughout 2015.

“Yesterday Dying Light playfully encouraged people to drink water in exchange for a free docket code that gives players a high-tier weapon to redeem in-game,” the developer said. “The response from the community was overwhelmingly positive with fans from all over the globe joining in.

“To thank fans for their involvement, today Techland announced an additional level to the Drink For DLC campaign. Techland have decided to design, create and release a number of all new free DLC packs for Dying Light throughout the second half of the year. The campaign will be led by the fans reaching successive stretch goals – by posting pictures of themselves drinking water on Twitter and tagging them with#DrinkForDLC.”

Four DLC packs are on offer in total, with each one set to go into production once the number of entries passes 10,000, 20,000, 35,000 and 50,000 tweets. The total number of free DLCs unlocked by fans will be revealed by the end of July 2015.

Meanwhile, Techland says that the number of entries has already almost met 5,000, meaning that a 50% XP boost to player agility will be applied to all players for 24 hours starting this Sunday, June 28.
