Telltale’s episodic Borderlands adventure Tales from the Borderlands releases in Europe today on PC, tomorrow on Xbox One, and next Wednesday, December 3 on PS4, PS3 and Xbox 360, the developer has announced.
The surprise launch comes ahead of Telltale’s ‘other’ series Game of Thrones, which is expected to release on all platforms next month.
The first episode of the Borderlands spin-off already appears to have gone down well with critics, scoring a 9/10 from GameSpot and 8.5 from Polygon.
“Tales from the Borderlands is brilliant proof that professional fan fiction can be a beautiful thing,” says GameSpot, with Polygon adding: “Tales from the Borderlands Episode 1: Zer0 Sum is everything I’d expected from Telltale’s take on this franchise, executed with such skill that it’s hard to find anything to complain about.”
The game follows two new characters, Fiona and Rhys, shortly after the events of Borderlands 2.
