Sega has released a couple of new trailers for Sonic Forces, the first trailer showing off a very brief look at the game’s new Tag Team system. This is followed by a second trailer that reveals a brand new techno dance track for Metal Sonic. Sega really missed a trick there.

First up the Tag Team gameplay teaser gives us our first look at the new co-op system. Everything seems to be moving along at quite a clip, and seems like a more refined version of the modern Sonic games. There’s also been the addition of a new Cube Wispon for your custom character, that freezes enemies allowing the player to smash them to smithereens.

Sonic can also take part in special Tag stages, where players can use Sonic’s boost abilities and homing attacks alongside their own created heroes, utilising their Wispon abilities to defeat enemies.

Metal Sonic also confirms that he will be back for Sonic Forces with his new music track, if you could call it that. The metal incarnation will once more join up with his creator Dr. Eggman (aka Dr Robotnik), as they attempt to destroy Sonic once and for all.

Sonic Forces is out in late 2017 for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC
