Tabula Rasa producer Starr Long has announced that Richard Garriott’s Tabula Rasa will miss its previously announced October 19 release date. The game’s commercial servers are now set to open on November 2, with the pre-order head start date now slated for October 30.

While a delay is always hard to take, gamers keen to get started with Tabula Rasa should note that the extra time will be used to improve the game.

This short but critical amount of time will give us time to address several issues including stability and balance as well as allowing our players to test the continent of Ligo (L38+) and our major changes to crafting for a few weeks rather than a few days,” explained Long. “Our entire development staff feels this extra time is needed as does our beta community. We feel confident that this extra time will make a difference on launch day.

Of course you can get started right now by winning a place in the Tabula Rasa beta; we’ve only got 2000 keys to give away so be quick.
